Job Summary
The Assembler I is responsible for assembling components, sub-assemblies, and final products according to work instructions and quality standards. This role involves the use of hand tools, bench tools, and power tools to complete assembly operations, perform basic testing, and support brazing and material handling processes in a manufacturing environment. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assemble details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies according to instructions and specifications.



  • Receive work assignments from supervisors or group leaders and complete tasks within required timelines.



  • Use hand tools, bench tools, and power tools to perform assembly operations.



  • Perform simple electrical and mechanical tests, including ground and dielectric testing.



  • Prepare cartons, pack materials, and apply labels or stamps as required.



  • Perform soldering and related assembly functions, including cutting insulation, stripping and assembling leads, forming wires, and preparing solder shims.



  • Wash materials with approved solvents and complete detailing operations as instructed.



  • Operate manufacturing equipment such as riveters, squeezers, drill presses, spinners, tappers, belt sanders, and bench grinders.



  • Load and unload automatic and semi-automatic equipment.



  • Load and unload contacts, solder shims or paste, and conductors into carbon assembly boats for furnace brazing.



  • Place and remove carbon assembly boats on furnace belts during brazing operations.



  • Inspect work for defects and report defective materials or equipment to leadership.



  • Move materials throughout the work area as needed.



  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.




Job Requirements




  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.



  • Ability to work scheduled hours for first shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.



  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.



  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.



  • Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.



  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.




Preferred Skills




  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.



  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
