Position Summary:
As an Intern on the finance team, this role will support key accounting and cost-management initiatives that directly impact financial accuracy, operational effectiveness, and overall business performance. This role is ideal for candidates who are analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to develop hands-on experience working with financial data, SAP transactions, and process improvement initiatives within a dynamic corporate environment.




Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in a comprehensive review to identify root causes of Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GRIR) aging and cleanup of balances, focusing on improving the accuracy of financial reporting and strengthening purchasing controls.
  • Contacting vendors to obtain statements, resolve discrepancies, and confirm outstanding invoice activity.
  • Assisting in the development of process improvement recommendations to reduce future GRIR aging and enhance matching accuracy.
  • Researching transactions within SAP to validate goods receipts and determine proper clearing actions.
  • Support the Finance and Operations teams in reviewing and validating master data elements that drive Standard Cost accuracy across multiple manufacturing plants.
  • Pulling and consolidating Bill of Materials (BOM), routing, and item characteristic data into Excel for structured analysis.
  • Conducting initial reviews to identify outliers and inconsistencies against established costmodel rules.
  • Performing data quality checks related to work center assignments, material yield assumptions, crew size configuration, machine time reasonability and throughput expectations, and profit center alignment.
  • Collaborating with plant teams to verify findings and help prepare data corrections that improve the accuracy of annual standard cost rollups.



Skills / Qualifications:



  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and criticalthinking abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data cleansing).
  • Interest in learning and working within SAP (training provided).
  • Strong communication skills, particularly when coordinating with vendors and crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, investigate issues, and propose solutions.
