PORTCO was founded in 1991 as an Employment Service Organization to provide transitional, supported employment and vocational services to individuals with disabilities who could not otherwise find and maintain competitive employment on their own. Employees in this job classification are under immediate supervision and perform various duties requiring moderate physical strength (able to lift 25 pounds). Typical duties may include some or all of the following: dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, polishing furniture, high dusting, vacuuming and simple operation of basic mechanical cleaning equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Police public areas, empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly, sweep and remove debris from outer areas and walkways Basic Floor care, dust mop, sweep, and wet mop floors Spray-buff floors, may require some use of power equipment Vacuum and spot clean rugs and carpets crub and clean restroom fixtures, woodwork and other floor surfaces Re-stocking restrooms with soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and other supplies needed Dusting and cleaning of walls, doors, blinds and windows Follow safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment Ensure assigned areas are maintained according to company standards Accountable for: Timely completion and accuracy of all work Working closely and harmoniously with other employees Adhere to contract requirements, company ploicies, and all safety and health regulations Punctual attendance Work Conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Shift Options: 7:00am-3:00pm 8:00am-3:00pm 3:00pm-10:30pm 4:00pm-10:30pm Available Schedules: Saturday & Sunday Sunday-Thursday Monday-Friday Tuesday-Friday Job Requirements**: Basic knowledge of modern housekeeping practices, procedures, system and equipment. Basic knowledge of safety practices as related to work Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and staff. Ability to follow directions, understand work rules and procedures. Ability to accept contructive criticism High School diploma or equivalent (preferred) Must be able to pass a background check.
