We Are You Are You have spent years learning that the best finance work happens when you understand the business as well as the numbers. You do not just model revenue, you understand why a product line is growing, what customers are actually buying, and where the margin pressure is coming from. You have sat in enough QBRs to know the difference between a forecast that reflects reality and one that reflects wishful thinking. You are comfortable building a multi-year market model, diving into product cost drivers and presenting margin improvement recommendations to a VP without losing your thread. Ambiguity does not slow you down, it focuses you. You ask the right questions, triangulate across Product, Sales, R&D, and Manufacturing, and form a point of view even when the data is messy. You care about being a partner, not a gatekeeper. When a product leader asks for insight on pricing or profitability, you do not just pull a report, you dig into the cohort trends, surface the tradeoffs, and help them decide. At Synopsys, you will work on a high-growth business line where your analysis directly shapes investment decisions and growth strategy. What You'll Be Doing * Lead the quarterly business review process for System Verification revenue forecasting, program managing deliverables across Product Management, Sales, and Finance, building opportunity-level forecasts, and driving alignment with business leaders * Run intra-quarter revenue trend analysis to surface risk and upside, translating pipeline shifts and deal timing into actionable insight for leadership * Build and maintain multi-year market models for System Verification that inform revenue growth expectations, profitability trends, and competitive positioning using cohort and customer-level analysis * Perform product-level gross margin analysis and lead cost reduction initiatives in partnership with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Operations, targeting commodities, volume purchasing, and tariff optimization * Partner with R&D and Manufacturing to define margin targets for next-generation products and track delivery against those targets through the development cycle * Work with Inventory and Operations teams to drive inventory turn improvements that directly impact cash flow and working capital * Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and visualizations that track key finance metrics like inventory, pricing, and cost to improve team efficiency and business visibility The Impact You Will Have * Shape investment priorities and growth strategy for a high-growth business line by delivering deep insights into market drivers, product competitiveness, and profitability trends * Influence product roadmap and pricing decisions by surfacing customer and cohort-level trends that Product Management and Sales rely on to make tradeoffs * Drive measurable margin improvement and cost efficiency across the System Verification portfolio through targeted cost reduction programs and operational partnerships * Become a trusted thought leader on finance topics across Sales, Product Management, R&D, and Operations, elevating the quality of decision-making at the leadership level * Improve forecast accuracy and business visibility by building models and tools that translate complex pipeline dynamics into clear, actionable recommendations * Accelerate cash flow performance by partnering with Inventory and Operations to optimize working capital and inventory turns * Contribute to a small, high-impact finance team that directly supports a business line critical to Synopsys growth in the Era of Pervasive Intelligence What You'll Need * 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or strategic finance, ideally supporting product lines or business units in software, semiconductor, or hardware-adjacent industries * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent practical experience; MBA is a strong plus * Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, applying financial judgment and business context to drive insights and outcomes without waiting for perfect information * Strong track record of partnership and communication with senior leaders across functions like Product, Sales, R&D, and Operations * Experience developing and maintaining analytic tools and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI or similar platforms * Solid understanding of revenue forecasting, gross margin analysis, and cost modeling in a product-driven business * Experience in semiconductor, EDA, or hardware industries is a plus and will accelerate your impact Who You Are * You operate comfortably at both the strategic and tactical level, building a multi-year market model one day and debugging a product cost variance the next without losing momentum * You build effective working relationships across functions quickly, earning trust with Product, Sales, and R&D leaders by delivering insight that helps them make better decisions * You have a growth mindset and adjust for feedback without defensiveness, proactively developing new skills and knowledge as the business evolves * You can explain a complex margin tradeoff or forecast risk to a senior leader in two minutes without oversimplifying or losing the nuance that matters * You are organized and detail-oriented, managing multiple workstreams at once while keeping stakeholders aligned and deliverables on track * You do not wait to be told what to analyze, you see a trend in the data, form a hypothesis, and bring a recommendation to the table The Team You'll Be Part Of You will be part of the FP&A organization supporting the System Verification business line at Synopsys.
