Our Industrial Group is eager to welcome a savvy Sr. Buyer/Planner to their team in East Aurora, NY! This Sr. Buyer/Planner be responsible for the analysis of products/program requirements and the generation of realistic production schedules for the Moog machine shop, assembly and test, and the externally sourced supply chain. You will report to the Supply Chain Manager and enjoy an onsite, collaborative work structure with a flexible schedule.

As our Sr. Buyer/Planner, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:

  • Analyzing Bills of Material, routings, and demand.

  • Placing purchase orders or work orders for required level of product; ensure proper part coding and provide input to BOM structure.

  • Monitoring status and maintain accurate schedules within MRP. Communicate issues in a timely manner to Master Planner and/or Program Manager.

  • Works directly with the internal supply chain to optimize workflow. Monitor and adjusts schedules regularly through capacity constrained areas.

  • Work through corporate purchasing and expediting to optimize product flow through the majority of suppliers; direct interface with suppliers may be required.

  • Maintain purchase order authority, setting pricing/new sources based on price history; support quoting efforts and negotiate pricing as needed.

  • Make proactive efforts with supply base (both internal and external suppliers) to improve on-time delivery or quality and reduce cost.

  • Mentor/train new employees and more junior team members on planning/buying processes.

To be considered for the Sr. Buyer/Planner role, you will need to bring with you:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, and 2+ years' experience in a similar Buyer/Planner role

  • An Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, and 5+ years' experience in a similar Buyer/Planner role

  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials and requirements planning tools

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles

  • SAP experience is a big plus!

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $80,000.00-$100,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
