Who We Are: At SES Space & Defense, we are a trusted partner ensuring mission success for customers operating in the most demanding environments. As part of SES S.A., a global leader in satellite-enabled connectivity, we deliver multi-orbit, end-to-end satellite and technology solutions that provide secure, reliable, and high-bandwidth communications across the globe. Our differentiated multi-orbit architecture combines GEO and MEO satellite systems with integrated terrestrial and network infrastructure to deliver resilient, low-latency, high-throughput connectivity at a global scale. With more than 120 satellites covering nearly the entire world, a global ground network, and thousands of deployed terminals supporting over 5,000 government missions annually, SES Space and Defense is a trusted partner to the U.S. Federal Government and national security community, allied governments, NATO, and agencies including NASA for mission-critical communications. We strive to be the only solution when success is critical and recognize our people as our competitive advantage. At SES Space & Defense, you'll work alongside a mission-driven team committed to integrity, honor, and accountability, delivering real-world impact across today's most critical missions. What You'll Do / Impact You'll Own: In this role, you'll lead SES Space & Defense's government affairs and public policy strategy, advancing the company's interests on Capitol Hill, within the Executive Branch, and across the national security space community. Reporting to the SVP of Product & Innovation, Strategy & Government Relations, this position serves as the company's primary advocate on legislative, budgetary, and regulatory matters affecting our space and defense business, with a focus on protected and resilient SATCOM, multi-orbit architectures, and U.S. Government space programs. You'll partner closely with Business Development, Product & Innovation, Engineering, and Legal to shape policy outcomes that expand SES Space & Defense's pipeline and protect mission-critical programs supporting DoD, the Intelligence Community, and allied governments.
Who You Are / Impact You'll Bring: You bring 10+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or legislative roles focused on national security space, defense, or commercial SATCOM, backed by strong relationships across Capitol Hill, the Department of Defense, and the Intelligence Community, and an active or recent Top Secret/SCI clearance. You have a proven track record of advancing legislative and budgetary priorities through the NDAA and appropriations process, shaping committee inputs, and translating complex programmatic and technical issues into clear policy positions for senior officials. You are deeply familiar with U.S. national security space architecture, MILSATCOM programs, multi-orbit (GEO/MEO/LEO) commercial integration, and the regulatory environment governing foreign-parent ownership of U.S. defense businesses (Proxy Agreements, ITAR, CFIUS). You communicate with credibility before Members of Congress, senior Executive Branch officials, and industry coalitions, and you exercise sound judgment in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. You operate effectively in a global company with a U.S. defense subsidiary structure and are willing to travel as needed to support the mission.
SES Space & Defense is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. #LI-Hybrid #LI-DR1 | |
