JOB SUMMARY Involves patient care services for a range of mental health disorders, often severe including major depressive disorders, paranoia, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. Settings may be inpatient, outpatient or clinical research studies. Patient care may be provided by a combination of licensed clinicians, as well as counselors and crisis intervention specialists. Patients typically require routine assistance, treatment or a specialized and controlled environment. Primary emphasis on treatment and attempt where possible to help patients control their own lives in the outside world, with the use of a combination of psychiatric drugs and psychotherapy.

Under direction of supervisor delivers educational / behavioral interventions to patients / participants according to protocol. In partnership with psychologists from the UCSF Eating Disorder Program, deliver protocolized research psychedelic-assisted therapy for adolescent and young adult research participants with eating disorders, including psychotherapy for patients receiving hallucinogenic medications such as psilocybin or ketamine. Related responsibilities will include:
- Timely documentation of study visits
- Identification and documentation of adverse events
- Safety assessments per study protocol
- Providing psychoeducation to research participants and family members within the bounds of the research protocol

Work Environment

MEDICATION ACCESS AND STORAGE
