Onboarding Experience Strategy Lead

The Onboarding Experience Strategy Lead is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering AI-powered, data-driven onboarding products and experiences that improve the onboarding experience and support new hires as they transition into their roles. This role translates FedEx's enterprise onboarding strategy into scalable, user-centric solutions by partnering across HR, technology, and business teams.

Essential Functions

  • Own and manage the onboarding product roadmap, aligning product features and enhancements to business priorities and employee experience needs

  • Translate onboarding strategy into actionable product requirements, user stories, and experience designs

  • Partner with HR, IT, and vendors to deliver seamless, integrated onboarding journeys across platforms and touchpoints

  • Leverage workforce data and AI-driven insights to continuously refine and personalize onboarding experiences

  • Ensure onboarding solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned to enterprise standards and governance

  • Monitor product performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation

  • Establish and manage a clear intake and prioritization process for onboarding experience requests and enhancements across business units and stakeholders

  • Support Onboarding Lead in making onboarding product decisions, assessing trade-offs, and ensuring delivery outcomes

Additional skills considered a plus:

  • Experience establishing onboarding strategy with large organizations.

  • Strong cross functional influential leadership.

  • Experience with onboarding product design centered around employee experience.


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years' experience in Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Onboarding, HR COEs, or related HR functional areas.

Proven experience designing, implementing, or managing enterprise-wide onboarding or employee development programs, including collaboration with designers and technology teams to deliver digital solutions.

Demonstrated experience working with digital HR tools, workflow automation, or AI-enabled learning/performance technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong understanding of onboarding best practices, journey design, and employee experience principles.

Expertise in streamlining the onboarding process for efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Familiarity with AI-enabled personalization, data analytics, and digital HR ecosystems.

Knowledge of compliance, labor considerations, and global workforce dynamics.

Experience working in agile environments, including managing backlogs, prioritizing work, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Experience designing and managing onboarding as a product, with a focus on user needs, business value, and continuous enhancement.

Proven ability to communicate clearly, align stakeholders, and translate complex concepts into actionable insights.

Demonstrated commitment to embedding inclusive practices and equitable experiences across onboarding journeys for diverse employee populations.

Experience managing external vendors to ensure quality, performance, and alignment to onboarding objectives.

Data-driven approach to identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred location for this hybrid position is Memphis, TN. However, we will consider candidates based elsewhere within the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories). Candidates residing within 50 miles of a FedEx campus will be required to work on-site at a FedEx location several times per week.
