Job Summary

As the Brand Finance Manager for Maybelline New York, you will act as a strategic and key business partner to our Marketing teams. In this highly visible role, you will guide optimal decision-making around investment prioritization, launch strategies, and gross margin acceleration.

What You Will Do:

Strategic Business Partnership & Profitability

  • Optimize Margins: Foster a culture of continuous gross margin improvement through strategic product mix analysis. Collaborate with cross functional partners (marketing, development, demand planning) to evaluate product launch gross margin P&Ls on an ongoing basis.
  • Maximize ROI: Rigorously evaluate the return on investment (ROI) for brand activations to ensure the best use of assets and continuous improvement in our investment decisions. Perform ad-hoc financial analyses to analyze new spend requests and challenge cross functional business partners on financial implications.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own the Numbers: Lead the planning, control, and execution of the Budget and Trends for Advertising & Promotional (A&P) spend, working closely with central finance teams. Perform month end close tasks (prepare journal entries, review SAP data, follow up with business partners) to ensure financials are accurate.
  • Deliver Insights: Provide deep-dive analyses and actionable commentary on performance results and variances to the Budget/Trend.
  • Anticipate risk and opportunities: Proactively identify financial risks and growth opportunities through dynamic budget management and regular check-ins with business partners.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure internal controls are being performed in order to guarantee accurate expense classification in strict accordance with L'Oreal Finance Norms.

Transformation

  • Champion Change: Lead the NEO (new SAP) system implementation for MNY US, acting as a catalyst for new, agile ways of working across different departments.
  • Drive Simplicity: Identify process improvements, streamline reporting, adopt and implement AI tools for efficiency and accelerate the Simplicity journey.

Education/Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience in finance preferred, ideally within consumer goods. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required. MBA/CPA preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong computer skills required; must have expert-level experience with Excel.
  • Financial reporting experience and use of SAP or similar systems for forecasting highly desirable.
  • Must possess strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, business acumen, leadership skills, oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into a compelling business narrative for non-finance partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management.
