Your responsibilities

Summary:

Providing support for the quality lab in the operation, advanced programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair of quality lab inspection equipment and repair/calibration of inline measuring and gauging equipment by performing the following duties:

  • Maintain safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace, reporting near misses and other safety and environmental hazards, and wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Accurately diagnose quality lab measuring and inspection equipment
  • Accurately diagnose problems and inline production measuring and gauging equipment problems, suggest appropriate solutions,
  • Implement corrective actions, and confirm continued effectiveness of repair.
  • Maintain equipment responsibilities for all inline gauges including SPC (Statistical Process Control), Marposs, Heidenhain, Nokra, Kistler, Adcole, HBM, Rohmann, and IBG.
  • Perform gauge R&R (repeatability & reproducibility), capability, and correlation studies, and ensure all MSA (Measurement System Analysis) requirements are met according to quality requirements.
  • Understand and apply control plans and product requirement specifications.
  • Support Quality Control team in preparation and completion of inspections, engineering specifications testing, gauge preventative maintenance, gauge calibrations, cleanliness testing, Lobe Center daily inspections, PPAP (production part approval process) activities; and Customer/Supplier/Internal Investigations.
  • Write advanced inspection programs for quality lab measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Write and adhere to work instructions and procedures for gauge practices.
  • Support Gaging Engineer and Quality Control Supervisor in cross functional training of Quality Control Team Members.
  • Stop processes to correct quality, safety, or environmental problems, identify and place suspect products on quality hold, and promptly notify supervisory personnel when processes become noncompliant.
  • Recommend changes or additions to spare parts lists.

Your profile

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, Quality Technician or related occupation.
  • Must have experience with the following: measuring, inline gauging, and test equipment; programming. Coordinate Measuring Machines and Adcole instruments; Microsoft Office; CIMplify and SAP; qs STAT, GAGETrak, Minitab; and Q-DAS; Siemens PLC and automated production environments; and Marposs and Nokra Laser Gauges.
