Foley & Lardner is seeking an associate with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation (EBEC) practice in our Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, or Nashville office. This position will support regulatory, compliance, and advisory matters involving employee benefit and executive compensation arrangements, in addition to providing EBEC transaction support.

Qualified applicants will have prior experience in employee benefits compliance and regulatory matters including the interpretation and application of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and related agency guidance; advising clients on issues related to qualified and nonqualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans; and advising on plan design, administration, and ongoing compliance obligations. Strong legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a collaborative, team-oriented environment are required. The position offers close partner interaction, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to support a diverse client base across industries.

Strong academic credentials are required. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA accredited law school and be active members in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Bar of the state where the hiring office is located will be required as a condition of employment.

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $240,000 - $350,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
