Lactalis US Yogurt, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Production Supervisor based in Casa Grande, AZ. As an Production Supervisor, the role will carry out responsibilities such as but not limited to supervising production employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas.. The role includes planning, assigning and directing work, coordinating weekly Continuous Improvement (CI) meetings, addressing product and employee complaints and resolving problems.. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will collaborate with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant. to align duties with the company's goals and values.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Ensures proper procedures are in place and being followed for production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments to machines.
  • Coordinates production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Evaluates needs in production for daily assignment of duties; establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Evaluates probationary period progress of new employees.
  • Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records as required.
  • Collaborates with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Provides supervision of assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action and performance management. If a collective bargaining agreement exists, employees may participate in grievances or other contract related activities and discussions.
  • Trains and instructs employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes. Oversees instruction, implementation and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees.
  • Leads by example with the CWD "Code of Quality". This includes following Company policies, standards and specifications.
  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of production employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

  • 2+ years' experience with food manufacturing. Dairy production a plus experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills that enable high level interaction with senior management within the company and across our customer and supply base.
  • The candidate must pass a company pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to commencing work.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and stretch and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must have full range of body motion.
