Job Description

Cytology Support Representative I - Denver, CO, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Pay range: $19.29 - $25.72 / hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Provide the Cytology Department with administrative support, including functions that require client contact.



Responsibilities:

  • Filing and retrieval of slides as requested.
  • Electronic recording of slides into laboratory information system, if applicable.
  • Mail handling and distribution within department.
  • Storage of laboratory records according to established record management protocol.
  • Retrieval of specimens for adjunctive testing (HPV and CTNG).
  • Scantron Machine Operation (if applicable).
  • Order entry,as-needed.
  • Learn to handle incoming calls, responding in a timely and professional manner.
  • Contact clients to request additional information or to provide designated reports.
  • Escalate complex customer issues to the appropriate individual/department.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Must begin and complete all assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to collaborate with other departments and colleagues for problem solving.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of patient test results.
  • Learn the department's test offerings and submission requirements.
  • Client contact is required
  • May handle specimens.
  • Handling of slides and slide folders.



Qualifications:

Physical and Mental Requirements:



  • Finger Dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Large amounts of standing, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds.


Knowledge:



  • Knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Type 45 WPM.


Skills:

Good organizational skills.

Education



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
