ChristianaCare's Supportive & Palliative Care in Newark seeking a professional, compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. The Supportive & Palliative Care department is an interdisciplinary palliative-care team which provide comfort to patients with advanced chronic and serious illness, and to their families. They seek to address our patients' fears and anxieties, lessen their pain and symptoms, and improve their quality of life. They also emphasize communication, continuity and coordination of care and help our patients with decisions about their medical care, including recommendations for medication and referrals asneeded. Palliative Care | ChristianaCare As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion supporting populations with chronic or critical illnesses or have a related background in palliative care. Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday: 8:00am -4:30pm Flexibility to work late hours between 4:45pm to 5:30pm on a rotational schedule, strongly preferred No weekends or holidays

Duties / Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
Position Qualifications:
High School Graduate or GED required. A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
