Position Information

Posting Number PG195985TM
Position Number 23WTL60
Position Type Temporary
Essential Job Duties
The Seasonal Program Coordinator will manage the day-to-day execution of the 2026 Shelton Challenge while serving as the primary researcher for the 2027 program cycle. This dual-purpose role requires a high-energy leader capable of ensuring the safety of minors in a 24/7 residential environment and an analytical strategist who will use this summer's data to overhaul recruitment and evaluation to prepare for the coming year.
This is a seasonal, high-intensity role. During program weeks, the Coordinator is expected to be on-site and on-call for residential needs. Outside of program weeks, the focus shifts to data analysis and strategic writing, providing a balanced experience in both applied leadership and programmatic research.

Key Responsibilities

1. 2026 Summer Operations & Minor Safety

  • Oversee 24/7 dorm operations. Maintain strict compliance with University "Protection of Minors" regulations, ensuring all dorm floors are staffed and secure at all times.
  • Act as a professional point of contact for parents and campus partners during drop-off, pick-up, and residential hours.
  • Lead and mentor the intern team, translating the Program Director's vision into daily schedules, supply management, and participant oversight.
  • Facilitate virtual focus groups with participants, peer leaders, leadership coaches, facilitators, and parents after each session to gather raw data for the 2027 redesign.

2. 2027 Strategic Research & Program Design (Future Focus)

  • Analyze 2025-2026 data to identify geographical and demographic trends; develop a formal recommendation report for the 2027 recruitment plan.
  • Research appropriate evaluation strategies and focus group techniques to assess impacts of the program on participants beyond the current end of week evaluation.
  • Use the current summer to document operational bottlenecks and update current SOP to ensure greater efficiency.

3. Communications & Budgetary Support

  • Draft digital marketing content and "Success Stories" in coordination with marketing interns based on current sessions to be used in the 2027 kickoff campaign.
  • Assist in managing the summer budget, tracking weekly expenditures, and identifying cost-saving measures for next year's fiscal planning.

Key Deliverables by August 8
1. 2027 Recruitment Strategy Report: Based on historical audit and current session observations.
2. Revised Evaluation Toolkit: A proposal for a new suite of survey instruments and focus group prompts for the 2027 cycle.
3. Residential Logbook: Complete documentation of all dorm safety checks and residential incidents for 2026.
