Job Summary

The CIG West - Strategic Pursuits Manager is responsible for leading early supply chain engagement efforts with key client targets and large-scale mega projects. This role focuses on strategic coordination, collaboration, and proactive market engagement to identify, pursue, and secure profitable business opportunities that support the growth and longterm success of C&M.

The Strategic Pursuits Manager will directly manage a CIG-West sales team assigned with responsibility for field training and direction leading the team to meet their sales and margin growth goals. Access to tracking and reporting will be provided to closely monitor and manage the revenue growth and expense of each salesperson.

The Strategic Pursuits Manager actively partners with CIG-West Sr Manager, regional sales teams, core branch teams, CIG-West niche-focused business development team and crossfunctional stakeholders to prospect and analyze new business opportunities. The role also assists CIG Regional Sales Managers with negotiations for major project pursuits, helping build structure, alignment, and continuity throughout the pursuit and execution phases of highvalue opportunities.

A critical component of this role is bridging operational and strategic gaps by fostering strong collaboration across internal teams, external partners, and clients. The Strategic Pursuits Manager also plays a key role in the planning, stewardship, and execution of National Conference initiatives, including target alignment, operational coordination, and implementation, while working in partnership with the internal conference assigned organizer.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Focused collaboration with all stakeholders both internal and external to mitigate and de-escalate issues that may arise.
  • Management and Training of all CIG West assigned OSRs.
  • Build business plans with CIG West assigned OSRs for each fiscal year.
  • Manage expense budget for CIG West OSRs to meet standards provided by CIG West Sr Manager.
  • Develop a Communication Channel and cadence to promote consistency and effective communications that provide clarity and coordination of stakeholders involved.
  • Develop Meeting cadence with CIG West Regional Sales Managers and Sr Manager-CIG West to partner, establish and implement improvements and best practices.
  • Partner with CIG Sr Sales Manager and CIG West Sales Managers to seek and attract talent to C&M to fill current openings. Support CIG -West Sr Manager as needed on-boarding training and development.
  • Lead early supply chain engagement through strategic coordination and collaboration.
  • Bridge gaps and structure for major projects pursuits and execution.
  • Partner with the CIG West Regional Sales Managers in developing key accounts, discussing best vendor options and partnerships together, and relationships with major stakeholders. When coordination with CIG East is required, include the Sr Manager-CIG West and the Sr Manager - CIG East to ensure effective collaboration, alignment and transparency.
  • Synthesize market intelligence, anticipate market needs, vendor alignment consistencies/inconsistencies, and clearly communicate insight with Sr Manager - CIG West.
  • Partner with Sr Manager-CIG West and CIG West Regional Sales Managers to identify best scope pursuits for each territory of CIG West.
  • Partner with CIG West Regional Sales Managers to conduct quarterly district/branch in-person meetings to build internal relations with the core branch network.
  • Partner with Sr Manager-CIG West to develop sales strategies to enhance revenue opportunities, and collaborate with the CIG West Regional Sales Managers to implement and execute those strategies effectively.
  • Develop and discuss plan with SR Manager-CIG West for mega project pursuits guidance on teaming partners.
  • Partner with Sr Manager -National Accounts to develop and execute plans for continued education of C&M internal teams on Collaborative Delivery, including sales strategies and pursuit training related to this approach.
  • Cultivate strong internal relationships and stakeholder alignment, within budget limitations, to maximize opportunities across the country.
  • Responsible for the planning, stewardship, and execution of National Conference initiatives, including target alignment, operational coordination, and implementation, in partnership with the designated internal conference organizer.
  • Develop new market strategies, in coordination with the CIG West - Sr Manager to proactively anticipate and respond to emerging trends in Data Centers, PFAS, reservoirs, seismic upgrades, collaborative delivery mega projects, industrial treatment, landfills, and fabrication.
