Overview

As our next Systems engineer, SR supporting NAVAIR, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation.



Responsibilities

    Perform Software Systems Engineering for the acquisition, development and sustainment of various programs supporting aircraft and weapons systems.

  • Perform the following activities as part of software development: system resource evaluation; software requirements evaluation; design evaluation; software definition, code and unit test; integration test; software delivery and independent test; software quality assurance; and software configuration monitoring.

  • Conduct reviews of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) products.

  • Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.) evaluating supporting work products to Government standards.

  • Participate in all software life-cycle reviews from requirements analysis, preliminary design, detailed design, integration, and test.

  • Review and comment on proposed system requirements, based on Government provided information. Verify the system requirements meet the stated program objectives.

  • Support program reviews and periodic program status meetings.

  • Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.

  • Support Statement of Work and CDRL development.

  • Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals.

  • Make recommendations regarding human systems engineering. Experience with DOD-STD-2167A/MIL-STD-498/IEEE 12207 is preferred.



Qualifications

  • Current DoD Secret clearance is required. Ability to obtain Top Secret, must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • MH-60R/S experience is required
  • BS or BA degree in a Technical Discipline.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Software/Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems, consisting of the design, development, integration and system testing of computer hardware and software.
  • Experience with Systems Software, Systems-of-Systems engineering, model-based systems engineering, or systems safety & reliability is desired.
  • Experience in military aircraft avionic systems and software is desired.
  • The successful candidate should possess strong communication, (written/oral), and presentation skills as well as strong critical thinking and reasoning skills.


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $93,900.00/Yr. - USD $156,800.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
