Genesis10 is currently seeking a Business Data Analyst for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

The Business Data Analyst will support enterprise Risk Data Services (RDS) by enabling compliant, accurate, and well-governed data onboarding and data control processes. This role focuses on data lifecycle oversight, risk and regulatory awareness, metadata onboarding, and data quality controls. The analyst serves as a key liaison between business, technology, and data teams ensuring requests are properly defined, data flows are understood end-to-end, and controls are functioning as intended.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Risk Data Services (RDS) solutions, including onboarding of new data sources, metadata, and tenants
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to intake, refine, and validate onboarding requests
  • Execute and monitor data control framework activities, primarily focused on customer-level data controls
  • Perform root cause analysis for data issues and collaborate on remediation
  • Work closely with metadata and data simulation teams to ensure requested data is correctly processed and aligned with source-to-target definitions
  • Understand and document source-to-target data flows and dependencies
  • Serve as a translator between business and technology teams
  • Develop and maintain basic reporting and dashboards using Power BI
  • Support internal workflow and process enhancements using Power Apps
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data operations, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of data structures, data flows, risk management concepts, and data governance frameworks
  • Proven experience working in environments with high accountability and ownership
  • Experience supporting or partnering with technology teams and data platforms
  • Ability to read, write, and validate SQL queries
  • Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization
  • Experience with Power Apps for supporting lightweight internal workflow applications
  • Advanced Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation, and data validation
  • Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to drive clarity in ambiguous situations

Desired skills:

  • Financial services experience
  • Experience in regulated environments (risk, compliance, data governance)
  • Understanding of regulatory and risk-driven data controls
  • Familiarity with metadata management, data onboarding, or data quality tools

Pay range: $43.59 - $51.59 per hour
