Job Summary (Primary function) The Principal Investigator, Translational Sciences develops novel biomarker strategies for use in human clinical studies. The position collaborates with industry and academics in identifying new ideas and tools to investigate epigenetics, the evolution of the immune response, and/or the effect of the tumor microenvironment on tumor growth and survival and the individual should have demonstrated interest and experience in one or more of these areas. The role explores new technology platforms in collaboration with a number of internal and external investigators and implement these new strategies of study and analysis into human clinical trials. Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities) * Responsible for data review, analysis, and interpretation from a variety of sources and continual evaluation of the potential impact or research findings on Development projects. * Play an active role in the development and implementation of the biomarker plans for clinical studies. * Lead research efforts investigating a number of immune active agents and their application, alone or in combination, in the treatment of immune mediated diseases. Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency) * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. * High level of emotional intelligence and willingness to work collaboratively with diverse functional groups, both internal and external to the company. * Interest in working in and creating an environment of scientific curiosity and an open exchange of ideas. * Ability to balance execution and prioritization of multiple tasks to accomplish program goals. * Passion for exploration of human biology with the mission of developing methods to study the changes in tumor biology and/or in the immune system associated with administration of new medicines. * Strong scientific background with an MD, Ph.D., or equivalent experience, and a demonstrated track record of performing excellent science.
