Job Summary SUMMARY The Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading and procuring a wide range of supplies, equipment, materials, and services in a service-oriented, yet authoritative and professional manner; consistent with group purchasing and other contracts, cost containment goals, and continuous quality improvements. Daily transactions include order entry, placement, confirmation, and expediting; EDI, GHX transactions,s and accounts payable interface for invoice resolution. RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitates obtaining cost proposals and quotes from vendors. Review and resolve product recalls as identified by reporting agency for regulatory compliance. Researches and resolves accounts payable discrepancies. Expedites deliveries. Advises end users of delays or back orders. Assures that shipping and payment terms are correctly communicated to vendors. Ensures that data entered into the Materials Management Information System (MMIS) is correct and collaborates with all appropriate to identify opportunities for standardization, consolidation, reduction of duplication, and other savings. Validates that vendors are in compliance with all vendor credentialing requirements and works to mitigate Legal ramifications of non-compliant vendors. Collaborates with Supplier Diversity for inclusion of diverse vendors in the sourcing process. Identifies best practice opportunities. Serves as a facilitator to ensure that individual departments understand the benefits of contract purchasing. Serves as a liaison between the user department and the Purchasing department to ensure alignment and understanding of the product request. Coordinates with individuals departments and physicians when applicable to ensure the implementation of best practice purchasing opportunities. Negotiates determines best overall value as per market analysis reporting. Monitors and manages issues to assure the timely processing requisitions, accurate placement of purchase orders for the procurement of Non Stock and Stock Supplies, equipment and services and receipt of goods. EXPERIENCE Required: One (1) or more year's job related procurement experience. With Associate's Degree three (3) or more years procurement experience EDUCATION Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field or Associate's Degree with equivalent combination of experience Core Competencies 1.
