Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct 1:1 behavioral support to children in school, home, and community settings. This role focuses on implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve behavioral, social, and daily living skills. The BHT works under the supervision of a Behavior Specialist who provides training, guidance, and clinical oversight. Team members are expected to maintain professionalism, build supportive relationships with clients, and communicate observations that contribute to treatment plan effectiveness. This is an hourly W-2 employee position with scheduling based on client needs, availability, and case assignments.

Job Responsibilities




  • Provide 1:1 behavioral support services to assigned clients in school, home, or community settings



  • Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising clinician



  • Support clients in developing behavioral, communication, and social skills



  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided



  • Attend and participate in required training sessions, supervision meetings, and ongoing professional development



  • Communicate client progress, concerns, and observations to the supervising treatment team



  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable regulations and company policies




Job Requirements




  • Ability to work effectively with children in behavioral health settings



  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and observational skills



  • Ability to follow treatment plans and clinical direction



  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned client locations as needed



  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality



  • Willingness to complete required training, certifications, and clearances



  • Availability to work assigned weekday schedules based on client needs



  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a clinical team




Education




  • High school diploma or equivalent required



  • Additional behavioral health, psychology, education, or related coursework preferred




Work Experience




  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with behavioral health needs preferred



  • Experience in educational, healthcare, behavioral health, or human services settings is beneficial

Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)




  • Monday through Friday schedule



  • No weekend hours required



  • Hours are based on authorized services and client needs



  • Assignments are matched based on availability, preferred hours, and proximity whenever possible



  • Many assignments may require availability of 25 or more hours per week with one client



  • Some assignments may experience reduced hours during summer months depending on client needs



  • Compensation ranges from $22.00-$24.00 per hour based on qualifications and credentials



  • Paid training compensation ranges from $20.00-$22.00 per hour
