Senior Internal Auditor Hybrid Let Vaco introduce you to our client seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join a growing financial services firm. This role is well suited for public accounting professionals with financial services clients or internal auditors in banking who want broader exposure, deeper business impact, and hands-on ownership across controls, compliance, and operations. In this role, you will execute risk-based audits across governance, regulatory compliance, financial controls, and third-party oversight, with direct exposure to GSE requirements and regulatory examination readiness. You'll partner closely with management while producing regulator ready workpapers, evaluating control design and effectiveness, and helping strengthen a scalable, best-in-class control environment. Ideal candidates bring a strong audit foundation, experience in regulated financial services, and an interest in applying audit rigor within a dynamic, growing organization where controls, documentation, and risk management truly matter. Key Responsibilities Execute walkthroughs and control testing to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls. Perform audit procedures aligned with regulatory documentation, sampling, and evidence standards. Test compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Prepare clear, defensible audit workpapers and draft audit findings and reports. Track audit issues, validate remediation efforts, and support regulatory examinations. Assist with third-party and vendor reviews, SOC report evaluations, and testing of complementary controls. Contribute to annual risk assessments, audit planning, and advisory reviews related to process, system, or regulatory changes. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 3-4 year relevant audit experience in financial services industry or with regulated financial service clients CPA or CISA is highly preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills.
