Patient Service Specialist Location: Onsite - Swedesboro, NJ Schedule * Monday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM * Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM * Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM * Thursday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM * Friday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Position Overview We are seeking a Patient Service Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for patients in a fastpaced healthcare office in Swedesboro, NJ. This onsite role is heavily focused on customer service, patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment collection. The ideal candidate is professional, patientfocused, and comfortable handling sensitive conversations with individuals who may be upset or frustrated. Key Responsibilities * Greet and register patients; explain what to expect during their visit and next steps at checkout * Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone * Prepare patient intake forms prior to appointments to ensure timely service * Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed * Collect copays, secure payments, and reconcile transactions in accordance with established controls * Counsel patients on coverage details and financial responsibility at time of service * Communicate with attorney offices, insurance companies, translation services, operational leaders, and business development teams * Meet quality assurance standards and support accurate documentation * Resolve issues through professional, patientcentered communication * Maintain a clean, safe, and professional frontdesk environment Required Skills & Qualifications * Prior customer service experience in a professional, customerfacing role * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deescalate difficult situations * Comfortable navigating desktop systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and office phones * Ability to multitask across systems while interacting with patients * Comfortable with basic math, payment handling, and accounts receivable concepts * High school diploma required Nice to Have * Healthcare or insurance experience * Familiarity with insurance authorizations, payers, and eligibility verification * Experience from retail, hospitality, healthcare, or recent college graduates with a 4year degree are encouraged to apply Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Swedesboro, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
