What are important things that YOU need to know about this role?

  • Eligibility: Candidate must be a resident of one of the following states to qualify for this opportunity: AZ, FL, MO, NV, TX, WA and WI
  • 100% Remote: This position is open to work remotely in any of the states listed above. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working from a remote office
  • Experience: Candidates must have experience with SQL and EDI along with CPT codes and medical billing

What will YOU be doing for us? The EDI Support Specialist supports the EDI & Operations Specialist and broader Operations team by assisting with daily EDI processes, claims support functions, and special projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth coordination between the Claims and Authorization departments, particularly in alignment with check runs and revenue cycle workflows.

The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of CPT codes, medical billing processes, AR concepts, and EDI transactions (277/834/835/837/999), along with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

What will YOU be working on every day?

  • Support daily EDI operations including monitoring claims submissions and remittance processing.
  • Assist with AR, claim corrections and authorization-related workflows.
  • Coordinate with Claims and Authorization departments in alignment with check runs.
  • Work closely with the EDI & Operations Analyst on special projects and system improvements.
  • Assist in reviewing 277/834/835/837/999 files for errors or inconsistencies.
  • Track payer issues and support documentation efforts.
  • Participate in testing for system updates when needed.
  • Maintain organized records of EDI transmissions and payer communications.
  • Provide operational support during peak workload periods.

What qualifications do YOU need to have to be GOOD candidate?

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of related experience preferable in an EDI role
  • Ability to execute SQL scripts
  • Working knowledge of CPT codes and medical billing
  • Basic understanding of AR processes
  • Familiarity with 277, 834, 835, 837 and 999 EDI transactions
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments
  • Experience working with health insurance companies preferred

The salary range and midpoint is listed below for your reference. Please keep in mind that your education and experience along with your knowledge, skills and abilities are taken into consideration when determining placement within the range.

Compensation Range: $23.96/hr - $35.95/hr

Compensation Midpoint: $30.05/hr
