PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Assists in the origination, logistics, and accounting of grain activities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Operates a high volume grain scale, including weighing, probing and accurately grading both inbound and outbound trucks Enters scale tickets into our automated grain system Demonstrates the aptitude and proficiency to learn and fully utilize the Grain Accounting System Transfers grain market knowledge to our farmer customers, giving us a competitive advantage in the marketplace Assists in all areas of grain origination, including providing bids, discussing markets, and contracting grain from producer customers, in addition to coordinating logistics as needed Assists in maintaining complete and accurate records in accordance with company grain policies Generates reports from the DPR, check-off deductions, freight payments, liens, and customer billing Accurately communicate producer grain position to Grain Accounting Department Takes initiative to learn and understand location operations and processes Provides courteous, timely and professional customer service Projects a positive company image to customers OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS May be required to drive and run local errands as needed Address customer needs, complaints and problem resolution Performs other duties as assigned Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply REQUIREMENTS Normally requires an Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school, or the equivalent thereof; and at least two years of previous experience working in the grain business or agriculture to demonstrate comprehension of USDA grain reports Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development Ability to work extended hours, beyond those considered "normal", during busy time periods Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
