Position Summary

As an Interior Designer IV at HED, you are a trusted project leader and creative strategist with advanced knowledge of design, technical coordination, and client engagement. You are responsible for guiding projects from concept through completion, integrating interior design into a holistic vision that aligns with HED's mission of design excellence. You serve as a mentor and design resource within the studio and support strategic planning across project teams. You bring vision, momentum, and deep curiosity to every challenge, helping to shape environments that support human performance and experience.

Essential Functions:

* Lead the development of interior design for large-scale and complex projects, managing design integrity across all phases.

* Translate project goals, research, and user needs into clear design concepts, interior strategies, and space planning solutions.

* Coordinate closely with architectural and engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project integration.

* Develop and oversee detailed documentation, ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and adherence to project schedules and budgets.

* Serve as primary point of contact for interior design with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

* Direct and review work of junior and mid-level designers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive design environment.

* Lead material selection, FF&E development, and specification with alignment to sustainability and performance goals.

* Oversee quality assurance, including peer reviews and internal coordination checkpoints.

* Support project pursuits and business development efforts with design narratives, visuals, and proposal input.

* Advocate for innovation, sustainability, and best practices in interior design across the firm.

Requirements

* Bachelor's or master's degree in interior design, Interior Architecture, or a related field from a CIDA-accredited program.

* Minimum 7 years of professional experience in interior design, including experience leading large-scale projects.

* Advanced proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, and Bluebeam Revu.

* Comprehensive understanding of building systems, code compliance, and technical detailing.

* Demonstrated leadership in design process, team coordination, and client engagement.

* Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.

* Deep knowledge of FF&E, finishes, materials, and sustainability certifications such as WELL and LEED.

Physical Requirements

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

* Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in person.

* Must be able to provide field verification and site visits.

* Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
