1. Facilitate, monitor and support management practices and projects aimed at achieving an organizational culture focused on EHS.

2. Monitor and actively participate in guidance and advice on current and future production activities ensuring compliance with applicable EHS legislation and regulations.

3. Maintain monitoring and reporting requirements of air emissions, industrial and hazardous waste disposal, storage tanks, storm water permitting, chemical purchase/storage, and water discharge programs.

4. Review and actively support all EHS investigations to ensure appropriate internal and external reporting, root cause and corrective action are implemented, follow-up to completion.

5. Responsibility for emergency and hazard response activities. Develop and maintain facility emergency response procedures.

6. Monitor changes in EHS legislation and regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal environmental permits and licensing requirements; and liaise with management to ensure compliance and integrated into operation.

7. Support of EHS education, training and required certification.

8. Ensure regular EHS inspections are taking place and follow-up action is taken.

9. Develop and deliver EHS initiatives to continuously improve policy and programs.

10. Provide EHS evaluation and support for product and facility initiatives. Prepare detailed reports, recommendations and proposals.

11. Monitor and assess occupational exposures from the various processes conducted in the workplace.

12. Provide and maintain accurate statistical data, reports, and analysis of EHS conditions in support of reduction goals.

13. Maintain registration requirements for ISO 14001 / 45001.

14. Contribute to the development and implementation of loss management policies, programs and procedures.

15. Ensure safety program consistency and standardization of programming with NFI Group.

16. Support ME/Production Laser Safety Officer (LSO) to ensure Laser Safety program is maintained.

17. Support satellite facilities assigned (NFI Parts)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support safety-related meetings and internal audits as required.

2. Participant of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

3. Comply with all occupational safety and health regulations, life safety codes, ANSI standards, state, and federal laws, New Flyer management and the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

4. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

4. Other duties as assigned.

* Occupational Safety and Health Degree or Diploma (preferred, not required).

>2 years direct EHS experience in a manufacturing setting

* First Aid Training.

* Knowledge of environmental regulation at all legislative levels.

* Knowledge of workplace safety and health legislation.

* Knowledge of applicable Fire codes, building codes and ANSI standards

Physical Activity / Requirements

Walking, bending, climbing, sitting, and standing for extended periods.

10% travel
