Job Overview

PCXCorporation is looking for an experienced Design Engineerto become a part of our rapidly growing company servicing the Data Center, Commercial Construction, and Renewable Energy markets.This position will be based in Clayton, North Carolina.

A Day In The Life

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing integrated electrical and mechanical systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code), IBC, UL, IEC, ASCE, ASME, ASTM, and ASHRAE requirements and standards. This work includes the design of large custom-built enclosures and skid-based systems that house electrical switchgear and/or mechanical systems for modular data centers, power equipment centers, and integrated switchboards serving the company's target markets. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects in an independent work environment. They must be able to develop costeffective designs using SolidWorks 3D solid modeling or an equivalent tool. In addition, this position requires a solid working knowledge of electrical equipment integration and mechanical design, including structural considerations and sheetmetal fabrication. Frequent interaction with customers, colleagues, and suppliers is required; therefore, strong communication skills are essential.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • BSME, Technical Degree, or Commensurate Design Experience
  • 1-3 years' work experience in Design Engineering
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and specifications
  • Must be proficient in Solidworks or Equivalent
  • Basic Understanding with integration of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of fabricated sheet metal products
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015
  • Understanding of SAP ERP operating environment
  • Working knowledge of NEC, UL, and ETL Standards
  • Working Knowledge of ASCE, ASME, ASTM, ASHRAE Standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing and functioning in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
