Position Summary

The Wasserman Center at the NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking an Undergraduate Career Development Counselor.

The Undergraduate Career Development Counselor will guide, advise, and support students through the career planning, decision making, and job searching processes. Assist students in analyzing their interests, skills and developing career goals at all stages in their professional and academic careers. Assist with career programs including planning, marketing and implementation and gathering data to analyze program effectiveness and student outcomes. Support the undergraduate student population in their first year experience by defining milestones relevant to their school year/academic progress. Assist students and faculty partners with implementing a 4-year career success plan. Work closely with employers to assist them with talent needs utilizing employer resources available (in-person and virtual offerings) from job postings, recruiter-in-residence, resume books, career fairs/industry expos, social media initiatives, as well as involvement in employer forums, conferences, career development panels and programs.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in a related field

Required Experience:
2+ years Relevant experience in career services, career counseling, student personnel, human resources, recruitment, admissions or related field and equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience implementing programs, seminars, events, and preparing training materials.

Preferred Experience:
Experience developing talent pipelines with employers and working with international students and professionals in the workforce. Experience using AI tools in career coaching/education and understanding surveys and assessment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Career planning, assessment, and job search expertise. Excellent communication, presentation, writing and organizational skills. Ability to deal with a diverse population at all levels.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience working with international students and professionals in the workforce. Experience using social media platforms and understanding surveys and assessment.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
