About the Opportunity:
  • We are seeking a Factory Layout Planner to own and execute plant layout design for a manufacturing facility.
  • This role is hands-on and CAD-centric, responsible for creating, maintaining, and evolving detailed factory layouts that support Lean flow, safety, capacity growth, and facility constraints.
  • Layout Planning & CAD Ownership (Primary Focus).
  • Develop, maintain, and control 2D/3D factory layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Own the master plant layout, ensuring accuracy, revision control, and alignment with actual floor conditions.

What You'll Do:
  • Create concept, intermediate, and final layouts.
  • New equipment installations, Line rebalancing and Lean transformations, Capital projects and capacity expansions, Temporary and phased layouts during construction or moves.
  • Support layout reviews with Operations, EHS, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership using clear, to-scale drawings.
  • Incorporate facilities engineering considerations into layouts, including electrical power and panel locations, compressed air, gas, water, and cooling, process exhaust, dust/fume collection, and ventilation, foundations, pits, and equipment anchoring, overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting envelopes.
  • Coordinate with Facilities and Maintenance to validate utility capacity and routing, equipment service and maintenance access, code compliance, and constructability
  • Support equipment moves and installs, ensuring layouts are executable with minimal disruption.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in factory layout planning or industrial engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in applying Lean manufacturing principles to physical layout design.
  • 3+ years of experience in AutoCAD.
  • 3+ years of experience in Factory Layout planning.
What Sets You Apart:
  • The ideal candidate has good industrial engineering fundamentals, CAD proficiency, and working knowledge of facilities systems, with the ability to translate production needs into practical, buildable layouts.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) for factory layouts.
  • Comfortable spending time on the shop floor validating layouts against reality.
  • Knowledge of EHS requirements related to hot processes, material handling, and industrial equipment.
