Summary of position/daily activities:
We are seeking highly motivated Data Architects to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing federal enterprise data ecosystems. AEM Data Architects understand complex, multi-system environments and design scalable, secure data architectures that enable integration, governance, and analytics across interconnected platforms. In this position, you will define and implement enterprise data models, data integration patterns, and governance frameworks that ensure data consistency, quality, and accessibility. You will collaborate with application, DevSecOps, and business teams to enable real-time and batch data flows, reduce manual reporting burden, and support dashboard and analytics capabilities. You will play an integral role in establishing trusted data foundations that improve decision-making, enhance user experiences, and support AI-driven innovation.
  • Define and maintain enterprise data architecture supporting a cloud hosted digital services platform used by multiple stakeholder communities
  • Design data models and data structures that support application functionality, integration with external systems, and enterprise reporting needs
  • Collaborate with software engineers, database engineers, and analytics specialists to implement scalable and maintainable data solutions
  • Define data integration strategies enabling reliable data exchange across applications, services, and data sources
  • Support development of data pipelines and data services that enable analytics, dashboards, and reporting capabilities
  • Guide implementation of data governance, data quality, and data management practices
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization of data related processes across applications and services
  • Participate in Agile delivery activities and collaborate with engineering teams to align data architecture with application development
Basic qualifications/experience (the required qualifications which are critical to be considered for the position:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • 8 or more years of experience supporting enterprise data architecture, data engineering, or database design
  • Experience designing data models and data structures supporting enterprise applications or digital platforms
  • Experience supporting data integration between multiple systems or services
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments and collaborating with development teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to data architecture and data integration challenges
  • Experience supporting enterprise data environments for large user communities or complex applications
Desired skills/certifications (any additional skills desired but not required to be considered for the position):
  • Experience supporting data architectures within cloud environments such as AWS
  • Experience supporting enterprise analytics platforms, dashboards, or reporting systems
  • Familiarity with modern data integration and data pipeline practices
  • Experience supporting applications that exchange data with external systems or services
  • Experience supporting federal or large enterprise digital platforms
  • Relevant data architecture or cloud certifications are a plus
