Azure Data Platform Engineer

Genesis10 is seeking an Azure Data Platform Engineer for a hybrid role with a major healthcare organization based in Bloomington, MN. This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity. Our client was recognized as a Star Tribune "Top Workplaces" award winner in 2025.

Conversion Salary Rate: Up to $135k per year.

Our client is seeking a Data Platform Operations Engineer to support the continued growth of our cloud and data platform capabilities. This is a newly created position driven by increased demand, offering the opportunity to work on modern Azure-based infrastructure and data solutions.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in building, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based data platforms while collaborating in a growing, fast-paced team environment.

• Deploy and manage Azure-based cloud infrastructure and data platform services
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and modern CI/CD practices
• Support operational needs across the data platform, troubleshooting, and resolving issues
• Partner with team members and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
• Document deployments, configurations, and processes
• Research and implement improvements for evolving platform needs

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (service deployment and management)
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools
• Strong understanding of data platforms and architectures
• Experience with PostgreSQL

• Knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals (VNets, subnets, private endpoints)
• Experience with:
  • Azure CLI
  • Azure Monitoring tools
  • Databricks
  • SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Exposure to Azure AI Studio / Azure AI Hub
• Deeper expertise in Databricks

• Mid-to-senior level engineer with strong hands-on experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proven experience deploying real-world Azure solutions
• Strong communication skills for collaboration and stakeholder engagement

• Some on-site presence required (typically with 2-3 days' notice)
• Small, growing team (currently 4 members)
• Daily work includes:
  • 1-2 hours of meetings
  • Hands-on engineering and solution development
  • Research and innovation for platform improvements
