We are currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This individual will support accounting operations in compliance with company standards, for multiple entities, including real estate and not-for-profit entities. This is a full time, on-site position.
How you will make an impact as a Staff Accountant:
- Support the Senior Accountant by preparing monthly invoicing, entering bills when needed and tracking various tenant leases (e.g. rent changes, monitoring expiration dates)
- Manage monthly billing to both internal and external customers
- Respond to inquiries from and provide requested reporting to vendors, staff, and other departments
- Perform periodic reviews of general ledger detail, including intercompany transactions, allocations, reconciliations and payments for multiple entities
- Year-end closing of general ledgers, including preparing support and flux analysis
- 1099 preparation
- Responsible for journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and cash management
- Not for profit accounting including processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor payments and donor contributions
- Support accounts receivable, cash disbursements and cash receipts across 10+ entities
- Assist with supervision of day-to-day AP operations and staff
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a minimum of three years working in the accounting field, preferably an audit background with experience working with multiple clients
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
- Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers, and external customers
- Strong organization and time-management skills with high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with real estate entities and property portfolios
- Experience with not-for-profit accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks
