Santa Monica Studio is seeking an experienced producer for the development of a new unannounced title!

The Production Team at SMS excels at creative problem solving and communication. We thrive on being at the intersection of people and productivity as the glue that holds the studio together. Whether by being leaders of the craft of project management or partners who will clear the path ahead, the production team is here in service to the studio, to move development forward and achieve quality. We are looking for a Producer to join us on the Audio team. In this role, you will partner with producers, creative leads, and directors to support the production pipeline throughout all phases of product development cycle from design through final approval. You'll own the creation, maintenance, and execution of a project plan to determine resource, budget and schedule needs.

The ideal candidate will have a solid and wide understanding of the influence and role of upstream teams (design, level design, level art, combat, animation, etc.) as well as an understanding of lateral groups (VFX, localization, tools, etc.) which impact Audio throughout the production process.

This role is solely focused on game development; any experience in the music industry as an audio producer is not relevant to the position.


Responsibilities

Manage Production Areas:



  • Facilitate development efforts to keep product development on schedule and within budget
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, triage day to day production issues
  • Ensure regular and effective communication between internal and external team members toshare project status and problem solve


Proactively Seek Resolution:



  • Breakdown and prioritize work for teams, identify problems and propose solutions, provide data drive impact analysis
  • Ensure stakeholders have proper visibility into development and are informed of any changes thatmay impact their teams


Support Product Development Needs:



  • Maintain and improve relationships amongst development team
  • Partner with team managers to help provide team assignments which support career growth
  • Participate in yearly performance review process by capturing feedback



Skills

Project Management / Production



  • Proven experience producing high performing cross functional teams
  • Excellent organizational & prioritization skills, attention to detail
  • Self-starter, you approach challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution


Communication & Collaboration



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to communicate effectively across product development andmanagement teams
  • Adapts quickly to changing project priorities and emergent needs


Industry



  • Knowledgeable of current industry trends: stays up to date on competitive products and new production methodologies
  • Must love games and have a passion for crafting them!



Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years of production experience in a AAA game development environment
  • Familiarity with traditional waterfall production management techniques and Agile techniques, including SCRUM and Kanban
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Hansoft, Microsoft Office (Project and Excel)



Preferred Experience

  • Experienced with two or more published titles
  • PMP or equivalent certification

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.
$62.60 $93.85 USD
