Kennel Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY

Kennel Attendant will provide care for canines in our Moyock facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor health and well-being of dogs

• Immediately report any health or medical issues to Kennel Supervisor

• Clean kennels, feeds, grooms, exercises, and administers medication(s) to dogs

• Transport dogs to the veterinarian
• 
  
  Coordinate and transport students and K9s to and from the airport in support of training and operational requirements
  
  

• Complete K-9 documentation as directed

• Work conditions can vary from a busy training environment tofield work, both subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outsideand ininclement weather conditions isrequired, including heat, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may berequired, and the work schedule will vary.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diplomarequired

• Previouskennel or veterinary experience notrequired

• Mustpossessvalid Driver's License

• Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion

• Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process

• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

• Various tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting

• Ability to walk, reach, kneel crouch and handle work related supplies and tools

• Additionaldetails related to physical requirements may be outlined in the Company's Performance Work Statement or Contract with the client

• Must be able to lift and carryvarious itemsweighing up to 100 lbs. Requires standing forlong periodsof time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle oroperateobjects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
