JOB SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant supports the finance and accounting team by performing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with monthend and yearend close processes. This role ensures financial data integrity, supports compliance requirements, and contributes to efficient financial operations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., ERP systems)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
  • Understanding of internal controls and audit processes
  • Ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • In an office position, remote work is not permitted.
  • Must maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Stay abreast of Federal, State, local and corporate reporting changes.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Experience in construction accounting and software.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform accounting transactions utilizing processes according to accounting standards and practices.


  • Perform duties to assist Controller with day-to-day operation of one or more functions, including but not limited to: payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable or general accounting.
  • Works closely with Controller to complete accounting month-end and quarter closing processes and reporting.
  • Complete internal and external audit requests, as directed.
  • Assist with supporting the accounting team as required.
  • Prepare a variety of journal entries for general ledger accounts.
  • Coordinate employee credit card expense system, ensuring timely updates and management approvals and accurate/timely cost coding and GL posting.
  • Reconcile parent company cash transactions and complete GL account reconciliations.
  • Support project managers by reviewing job status, complete job setup/shut-down, post revenue change orders, update purchase orders and participate in cost to complete reviews.
  • Prepare, reconcile, submit and distribute W-2s and 1099s.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
