Position Summary

Position Summary

The HAF Division, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is seeking Maintenance I to provide comprehensive plant and facility maintenance support, performing electrical, communications, controls, and mechanical troubleshooting and repair on production machinery and building systems.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, communication, and controls maintenance of all plant machines and equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical maintenance of all plant machines and equipment.

  • Perform a wide range of general building and equipment maintenance, such as plumbing, general electrical, carpentry, sheet metal and fabrication design, sheet metal repair work and plant rearrangements

  • Must be able to weld and use metal cutting equipment.

  • Safe working knowledge and skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and a safe working knowledge of all electrical equipment and systems up to 480 volts 3 phase industrial plant electrical wiring and code requirements.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, program and communicate with PLC, robotic, HMI, and electrical systems in facility.

  • Move, setup and level machines. Install guards and see that machines are lubricated and properly operational.

  • Coordinate and/or perform equipment preventative maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical malfunctions/breakdowns, recommend and initiate proper activity to repair. Able to identify replacement parts and submit requisitions as required.

  • Disassemble, repair and rebuild electrical control units, mechanical units, mechanisms and machines.

  • Ability to safely utilize maintenance equipment (including but not limited to saws, grinders, CNC mills and lathes, etc.) to perform duties as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness of department floors and machinery.

  • Communicate with and utilize outside services and support as necessary to troubleshoot problems, provide project and maintenance assistance and offer technical resources.

  • Support, assist and perform other various duties and tasks as assigned by the department supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Strong Math skills - three-digit addition and subtraction, multiple digit multiplication and division. Converting fractions to decimals. Ability to follow formulas for conversions (ex: SF to LF)
* Ability to work in a team environment, cultivate strong relationships, and demonstrate initiative.
* Ability to lead Lean events and high-performance teams as required; ability to train team members.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: Two (2) years Technical Degree preferred with a minimum of two (2) years' experience or six (6) years' experience in lieu of a degree. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating, and maintenance manuals

  • Communication: For safety and quality, must be able to read, write & understand English

  • Vision: 20/25 vision corrected or uncorrected; Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine manuals, gages, prints and precision measuring instruments

  • Physical Demands: Associate is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch; Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. Ability to lift 50 pounds, exert 25 to 45 pounds of linear force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action is required.
