Position Summary

The Senior Finance Manager oversees the organization's management accounting and controlling activities, ensuring accurate financial analysis and reporting to support informed business decisions. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, cost monitoring, and variance analysis, helping drive financial performance and optimize resource allocation. The Senior Finance Manager partners closely with business leaders to provide actionable financial insights, analyze operational and product costs, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and profitability improvement. The role also focuses on enhancing controlling processes, implementing effective financial controls, and aligning financial management with the company's strategic objectives.

Job Duties

  • Leads and oversees management accounting and controlling activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
  • Drives budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, coordinating with business leaders to align financial targets with operational objectives.
  • Monitors and analyzes product and operational costs, including variance analysis, cost optimization, and profitability assessment.
  • Ensures accurate preparation and review of management reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and KPIs for internal decision-making.
  • Maintains and optimizes financial systems and general ledger to provide reliable data for budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and performance monitoring.
  • Partners with operational teams to provide actionable insights and support business performance improvement initiatives.
  • Develops, implements, and refines controlling frameworks and financial processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Monitors compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in the context of management accounting.
  • Provides financial insights to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and cost management programs.
  • Fosters a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to optimize financial processes, reporting tools, and controlling practices.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field is required.

Experience Requirements

At least 10 years of experience in financial analysis, including a minimum of three years in a manufacturing environment with solid exposure to industrial controlling and cost accounting. Previous experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP CO, reporting, and cost analysis modules) is also required.

Tools

  • ERP Systems (SAP)
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or similar tools is a plus.

Licenses/Certifications

CPA or CMA required.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment with some travel between buildings and to other locations required. Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move/lift to 25 pounds without assistance.
