Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain our CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, and ensuring high-quality output through accurate measurements and inspections. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Mazak CNC machining centers (Mill/Turn, Multi-Tasking, or Vertical/Horizontal Mills) to produce precision components
- Load programs, set tool offsets, and make program edits at the machine (Mazatrol and/or G-code)
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining
- Select, install, and maintain cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices
- Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Troubleshoot machining issues and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized (5S standards)
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies to ensure a safe working environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, technical or trade school training in CNC machining preferred
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC machining centers, preferably Mazak equipment
- Experience with Mazatrol and/or G-code programming and editing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, speeds, and feeds
- Experience with setup, tool offsets, and basic troubleshooting of CNC machines
- Knowledge of materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless, and plastics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
