SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

The Early Career Programs Manager serves as the strategic leader responsible for the design, execution, and continuous enhancement of SouthState Bank's Infoship and Commercial Banking Internship programs. This role ensures a high-quality and consistent experience for all early talent participants while strengthening SouthState's talent pipeline for future banking leaders.

This individual partners closely with senior and executive leadership, human resources, campus recruiting, corporate learning, credit administration, and business-line leaders to align program goals with organizational talent strategies.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

The Early Career Programs Manager serves as the strategic leader responsible for the design, execution, and continuous enhancement of SouthState Bank's Infoship and Commercial Banking Internship programs. This role ensures a high-quality and consistent experience for all early talent participants while strengthening SouthState's talent pipeline for future banking leaders.

This individual partners closely with senior and executive leadership, human resources, campus recruiting, corporate learning, credit administration, and business-line leaders to align program goals with organizational talent strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and execute the overall structure, curriculum, and goals for SouthState's Infoship and Internship programs, ensuring alignment with the management associate program.
  • Collaborate with Campus Recruiting team to recruit high-potential students, participating in the interview process and intern placement across the SouthState's footprint.
  • Plan and facilitate orientation sessions, training modules, and workshops to familiarize interns with bank technology, systems, compliance, and policies.
  • Monitor intern performance, providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and career development support. Act as the primary liaison between interns, local market leadership, and department heads.
  • Identify and define impactful projects for interns to complete, ensuring they deliver business value.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the program to enhance the intern experience and drive organizational goals.
  • Ensure all internship activities adhere to banking compliance standards and internal policies.
  • Assist the Director of Early Career Development with the management associate program as needed
  • Determine the host markets for the summer interns annually
  • Proper management of the early career development budget in partnership with the Director of Early Career Development and the Campus Recruiting Manager
  • Assess the needs of the program and recommend needed resources

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

  • Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation and any other job-related training

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in banking, training, human resources, or event/project management.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and through electronic channels
  • Ability to use a computer on a frequent basis, including typing and sustained attention to a monitor
  • Ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend and reach

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office: This position reports to a physical Company location, and the setting will be a typical office environment.

TRAVEL

  • Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
