The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Manhattan office, is seeking to hire a full-time transdiagnostic psychologist to join our established team of clinicians and provide excellent care using evidence based and targeted intervention treatment methods. Knowledge of underlying factors that contribute to mental health disorders in children and adolescents is required. The position emphasizes a transdiagnostic approach, targeting core cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes across disorders, and requires collaboration across specialty areas within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates are expected to have experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations for a wide range of childhood disorders, including anxiety, mood, and disruptive behavior disorders. Experience providing DBT with adolescents on a comprehensive team (including providing individual therapy, facilitating Multi-Family Skills and/or Graduate Groups, and phone coaching) is also required. Ideal candidates are energetic clinicians with a commitment to clinical and academic excellence and an aptitude and enthusiasm for outpatient practice. Experience in identifying core cognitive, emotional, or behavioral processes that are relevant across different disorders is desired. Ideally, expertise in diagnostic evaluation, proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Behavior Therapy and Parent Management Training is encouraged.Candidate must be willing to conduct workshops and webinars (e.g., for parents and teachers). The position carries an academic appointment within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation. Work Schedule The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry supports a hybrid work arrangement. This position includes dedicated onsite space at our Manhattan office, with a structured onsite/remote schedule determined by clinical needs and space availability. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The annual salary range for a full-time junior faculty role is $114,420 to $116,792. Candidates who qualify for higher faculty appointments are also encouraged to apply. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including faculty appointment, credentials, research history, specialty, and health system need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. In addition to the annual salary listed, psychologists are typically eligible for supplemental compensation ranging from $31,300 to $80,000 in the first year of practice.
