Summary:

The Corporate Transportation/Logistics Manager will oversee and optimize our logistics operations. The Transportation/Logistics Manager will play a critical role in coordinating and managing the efficient movement of inbound and outbound goods, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing costs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of supply chain and logistics processes.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

* Provide complex data analysis using AI for logistics planning and volume studies and participate in process/rating improvement efforts.

* Source and selecting global carriers to support Benchmark sites.

* Work with and lead/motivate a team of site logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.

* Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

* Collaborate with vendors and third-party logistics providers to negotiate contracts, ensure compliance, and optimize service levels and costs.

* Evaluate carrier performance and take corrective actions as needed to maintain high standards. Periodically review carrier performance and capture data to assist in reviewing carrier performance on a quarterly basis.

* Work with carriers to obtain specific shipping rate quotes on new or quoted customer programs.

* Streamline the supply chain by analyzing and optimizing transportation routes to meet customer demands efficiently.

* Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

* Assist and manage site logistics budget, monitoring expenses, analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.

* Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the logistics operations to increase efficiency and accuracy.

* Implement best practices and industry standards to continuously improve logistics processes and procedures.

* Maintain and enforce BEI routing guide and quote/coordinate any freight outside the routing guide.

* Identify best freight lanes based on cost, efficiency and effectiveness, and provide communication to customer teams.

* Provide data analysis for logistics planning, freight cost and import/export data.

* Interact with Supply Chain Personnel and Trade Compliance to support incoming and outgoing product needs and documentation.

* Expedite or tracking of incoming critical shipment and provide updates to team.

* Assist in reviewing and approving payments for freight and logistics suppliers.

* Identify movements that are not made according to the routing guide and escalate them.

Other information:

* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

* Proven experience (5 years or more) as a Transportation, Logistics or Traffic Manager or in a similar role within the logistics or supply chain industry.

* Proficiency in AI as it relates to transportation and logistics and transportation management systems (TMS).

* Ability to independently drive solutions to complex logistics issues with limited supervision.

* Strong knowledge of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.

* Excellent leadership and team management skills.

* Proficiency in using logistics and inventory management software and tools.

* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize operations and address challenges effectively.

* Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.

* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to logistics and supply chain management.

* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in operations

* A proactive approach with a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

* Occasional travel required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
