Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 remote)

Pay: $40-$50/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (flexible start)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Drafter to support distribution engineering by developing and maintaining technical drawings and standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and delivering accurate, high-quality drafting support across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and update distribution standards and special designs in compliance with NESC
• Maintain M-drawings, H-drawings, construction standards, and Tampa Electric (TEMS) drawings
• Provide timely drafting updates to engineering and internal stakeholders
• Update and manage the Approved Materials Catalogue (AMC)
• Support monthly Standard Practice Committee Meetings (SPCM) with required drafting deliverables
• Review and proof engineering designs for accuracy and constructability
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, asset management, safety, procurement, and more

Qualifications

• Required: CAD and/or MicroStation experience
• Preferred: 2-4+ years in energy or power distribution drafting
• Engineering degree is a plus
• Strong technical writing, data entry, and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking ability
• Team-oriented, analytical, and adaptable

Work Environment

• Hybrid schedule with at least 3 days onsite weekly
