Center for Community Schools:

The UCF Center for Community Schools in the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida is a practice-based organization that provides community school technical assistance, university-assisted partnerships, training and development, and assessment and evaluation.

The Opportunity:

The Instructional Content & Training for the Unlimited Potential Initiative (UPI) Training Academy works with the program director and other UPI staff leading the coordination and implementation of the Training Academy, ensuring the development, alignment, and delivery of high-quality training content to support community school technical assistance. This role oversees the content development process by identifying, engaging, and collaborating with internal staff and external subject matter experts, and ensures all materials are designed, developed, and published in a consistent format within the Canvas (or other) platform.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment & Collaboration:


  • Provide strategic support to statewide community schools by identifying opportunities to bridge university resources with local school needs.

  • Collaborate with leadership (Program Director and Technical Assistance Managers) to ensure Training Academy content aligns with statewide priorities and university-assisted community school initiatives.

  • Partner with the Technical Assistance team to support statewide development efforts, contributing to presentations, conferences, and high-level convenings.


Content Development & Instructional Design:


  • Oversee the end-to-end development of Training Academy materials, managing workflows between internal staff and external subject matter experts (SMEs).

  • Curate and standardize training content to ensure all modules reflect evidence-based practices and provide consistent support across all regions.

  • Design and disseminate technical assistance documents and project updates to streamline communication and enhance learner comprehension.

  • Ensure instructional alignment between in-person training sessions and digital Training Academy modules for a cohesive learner experience.


Platform Management & Support:


  • Lead the implementation and administration of the Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas), ensuring all content is formatted for accessibility and user-friendliness.

  • Maintain quality control across the platform to ensure a consistent look, feel, and navigational flow for all published materials.

  • Deliver individualized professional development and technical support to partners, guiding them on how to effectively utilize Training Academy resources.


Administrative & Operational Support:


  • Manage project timelines and workflows to ensure content is finalized, vetted, and ready for platform integration.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support the evolving needs of the program.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Instructional experience in education or community schools, including developing lesson plans or learning modules, writing measurable objectives, and delivering engaging instruction.

  • Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to manage timelines, workflows, and collaboration across both internal teams and external partners to lead multiple contributors toward project goals.

  • Experience working with instructional design tools or Learning Management Systems (e.g., Articulate Rise 360, Canvas, or similar platforms)

  • Proven ability to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop professional development content rooted in adult learning principles.

  • Master's degree in education, instructional design, public administration, or a related field


Special Instructions to the Applicants:


  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,030 - $81,243. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

  • Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

  • This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.
