As a Full Stack Developer II, you will play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by designing and building scalable, cloud-based solutions that support the Consumer Markets Division (CMD). You will be part of a dedicated, self-organizing, cross-functional agile team developing next-generation systems on the AWS cloud. This role blends front-end, back-end, and cloud engineering skills to solve complex business problems from concept through production.

This role is onsite in our Newport Beach office 4 days per week.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Analyze complex business problems, clarify requirements, and evaluate technical feasibility across the full stack.
  • Contribute to solution design, including application architecture, workflows, integrations, and data flows.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy full stack solutions that solve complex business challenges.
  • Partner with Product Owners to refine the backlog, prioritize use cases, and ensure shared understanding across the team.
  • Collaborate closely with business partners, architects, and engineers on integration design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Build and consume APIs, develop data integrations, and leverage AWS cloud services to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Work with large and complex datasets to derive insights and enable new product features.
  • Own delivery from initial design through production release, supporting solutions in a DevOps-oriented environment.
  • Communicate technical concepts, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to automation, quality, and continuous improvement practices across the development lifecycle.
The Experience You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, including full stack, cloud, or application architecture roles.
  • Hands-on experience building and integrating APIs and data services using AWS cloud technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern SDLC practices and agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with a mix of technologies such as:
    • AWS services
    • Relational and NoSQL databases
    • Python, C#, .NET Core
    • Windows and Linux environments
  • Familiarity with automation, integration, and business process management solutions.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative agile teams.
  • A willingness and ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team skill development.
What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Experience in Financial Services, particularly Annuities or Insurance products.
  • Prior experience building cloud-native, scalable, or event-driven architectures.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$113,490.00 - $138,710.00
