DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 1, your work will focus on delivering exceptional visitor services and efficient office support at the Promised Land State Park Complex and the Varden Conservation Area. You will be responsible for engaging with park visitors on a daily basis, providing a wide-range of customer services such as answering questions, registering campers, collecting revenue, and issuing various boating and camping permits. You will provide park-goers with vital information regarding the park's history, natural resources, available facilities, and park rules. You will also operate the online reservation system and maintain park spreadsheets on a daily basis. Clerical functions will entail filing and maintaining paperwork, sorting mail, and designing, updating, and printing handouts and signs regarding public information and safety concerns. In addition, you will be tasked with operating the park radio and monitoring office supplies for replenishment. Interested in learning more? - This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately in March 2027.
- Work schedule will vary. Work will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week and will include a 30-minute lunch.
- Work may be scheduled on weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed.
