DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide high-quality welding services using various techniques such as acetylene, arc, TIG, or MIG welding. You will work as part of a maintenance team, contributing ideas for improved methods and technologies while ensuring excellent customer service and fostering a safe work environment. Your responsibilities will include performing skilled trades tasks like repairing parts, welding bridge structures, and fabricating components using different welding equipment. Additionally, you will engage in tasks that involve modifying and customizing equipment, exercising independent judgment in your work methods, and potentially overseeing helpers. You will receive assignments from a supervisor who will review your work, and you will also be responsible for diagnosing and repairing department equipment efficiently. Responding to emergency calls and participating in required medical surveillance testing will be part of your duties, along with maintaining a small inventory of steel and aluminum materials. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Mandatory or unscheduled overtime may be required to support operational and seasonal needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
