THE ROLE:

The Senior Employment Litigation Counsel is responsible forstrategic oversight and management of employmentrelated litigation worldwide. This role serves as the central point of accountability for global employment disputes, working closely with regional legal teams, HR, and external counsel to manage risk, ensure consistent legal strategy, and support business objectives across jurisdictions. The position requires deep expertise in employment law litigation, strong judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, multinational environment. This role reports to the Global Head of Employment Law.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage allemploymentrelated litigation, attorney demands and administrative proceedingsglobally, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, wrongful termination, and collective or class actions.
  • Develop and executeglobal employment litigation strategy, ensuring consistency while accounting for local legal requirements and cultural considerations.
  • Oversee case assessment, early resolution strategies, discovery, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Select, retain, and manageoutside counsel across multiple jurisdictions, including fee arrangements.
  • Control litigation budgets, monitor spending, and drive costeffective outcomes without compromising quality or risk posture.
  • Ensure external counsel aligns with company values, principles, and litigation strategy.
  • Partner closely withHR, Ops/Finance and regional Legal teamsto proactively manage employment risk and support internal investigations as needed.
  • Advise senior leadership and HR stakeholders on litigation exposure, trends, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify systemic litigation risks and recommendprocess improvements, training, and policy updates to reduce future claims.
  • Analyze and report litigation data and trends to inform proactive riskreduction strategies.
  • Provideclear, concise reportingon litigation status, financial exposure, and key risks to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and boardlevel reporting as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience supporting aglobal workforce across multiple regions (e.g., Americas, EMEA, APAC).
  • Inhouse experience.
  • Prior responsibility for litigation budgeting and outside counsel management at scale.
  • Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution mechanisms internationally.
  • Exceptional legal judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to translate complex legal issues intopractical, businessfocused advice.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Executivelevel communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active bar membership in at least one jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated experience managingcomplex, multijurisdictional employment litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment litigation; experience with international employment disputes strongly preferred.
