About the Job:

Under direct supervision, the Workforce Data Coordinator is responsible for gathering, auditing, processing, and maintaining confidential employee data and records. Collaborates with campuses/units to enter workforce data into the University's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), PeopleSoft, in an efficient and effective manner, with a general understanding of the University appointment and employment business processes.

Location and Work environment: Hybrid, flexible position. In-person work will be located on the Twin Cities campus.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., can be flexible with start and end times.

Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. This position does not offer a STEM OPT training program.

Primary Responsibilities

Data Management and Analysis (70%)

  • Responsible for data entry and fulfilling transactions related to all HR activities, such as appointment entry, and job and data changes.
  • Enters employee data in PeopleSoft for new and/or rehired employees as needed or assigned.
  • Responsible for accurate storage of personnel file documents associated with requests sent to HR Operations.
  • Assists HR staff with various data analysis needs, including standard and ad-hoc report creation and maintenance.
  • Reviews documentation related to transactions and ensures the necessary information is provided and accurate.

Continuous Collaboration (15%)

  • Works with units served to ensure prompt and timely flow of employee documentation for PeopleSoft input.
  • Assists colleagues serving on technical working groups.
  • Partners with payroll on data/records-purging processes.
  • Ensures processes are handled in an equitable and inclusive manner.
  • As an individual contributor, models the University's dedication to creating an inclusive work environment and encouraging a caring culture.

Professional Development (10%)

  • Completes professional development, education, and training activities, consistent with managing the responsibilities of the position.
  • Completes continued learning and development appropriate to work duties and for the pursuit of individual, unit, and institutional success.
  • Participates in staff development based on individual need including ongoing skills training, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) development, professional learning, service & scholarly activity, and engagement & well-being.

Other duties as assigned (5%)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED and four years of operations and/or student support experience. Training/education may be substituted for some of the years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to foster and maintain inclusive, effective relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds within, across, and outside of the University.
  • Ability to learn and work within an HRIS product.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and technical support skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
