KPMG is currently seeking a Director, IT TMT M&A - Due Diligence, Integration and Separation - Strategy to join our KPMG Strategy practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee comprehensive Buy-Side and Sell-Side assessments across critical IT domains for potential client acquisitions, with a focus on technology platforms, media content delivery networks, and telecommunications infrastructure; identify key IT risks, opportunities, and investments needed, and deliver executive-level due diligence reports with strategic recommendations
  • Direct IT integration and separation initiatives from planning through execution for TMT-related transactions, including software/SaaS, digital media, and telecom services; oversee development of IT current state assessments, entanglement identification, operating model definitions, synergies, and Day 1 and post-close plans and lead execution engagements including the implementation of ERP, HRIS, CRM, Microsoft 365 and other business applications platforms
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Technology M&A offerings focused on software, digital media, telecom, platform modernization, and ecosystem integration; provide thought leadership on TMT architectures, including cloud-native platforms, SaaS, content delivery networks (CDNs), and 5G/telecom infrastructure
  • Establish and manage program governance frameworks, ensuring rigorous oversight of execution across complex, multi-vendor TMT environments; lead development of governance work products including status reporting, risk management, and issue tracking; implement AI-powered tools for predictive analytics on project timelines and risks and collaborate with senior cross-functional teams to identify technology dependencies, risks, and opportunities across technology operations, product, engineering, and content/broadcast operations
  • Lead strategic discussions and presentations with executive IT and business stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, Chief Product Officers, and leaders in engineering and content
  • Lead efforts to mentor and develop junior staff, fostering deep TMT expertise and delivery excellence across the team
Qualifications:
  • Minimum eight years of recent experience in technology/business consulting and/or technology leadership, with a proven track record of leading IT transformations and advising on complex M&A transactions
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, finance, or a related field from an accredited college/university required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-impact IT-focused M&A projects with expertise in at least three of the following: system integration/separation, cloud platform migration, digital media workflow optimization, telecom network integration, or IT architecture modernization; advanced program management skills, with the capacity to oversee large, complex projects and deliver strategic insights to executive audiences; familiarity with leveraging AI-powered platforms for due diligence, synergy analysis, and integration planning is a significant plus
  • Proven track record leading complex technology M&A engagements (pre- and post-deal) within the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) industry; in-depth knowledge of the technology and regulatory landscape specific to TMT, including experience with SaaS platforms, content delivery networks (CDNs), ad-tech, broadcast systems, or telecommunications infrastructure (e.g., 5G, fiber) and the IT implications of regulatory requirements from bodies like the FCC and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT best practices and enterprise IT ecosystems, including major ERP, CRM, HRIS, and other business application platforms, IT solutions, systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity; experience in the selection and implementation of Tier 1 or 2 service-centric ERP systems with broad knowledge across core finance modules supporting Order to Cash required; knowledge of supply chain and product-centric functionality helpful but not required
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities with experience developing and executing IT strategies that align with business objectives; experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies and driving business growth in the M&A space, including client relationship management and engagement in business development activities; proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to serve client needs
